Works from feature-length to documentary and short films will participate in different categories of the festival.
“Gilaneh” (directed by Rakhshan Bani-Etemad), “Man Push Cart” (Ramin Bahrani), “Men at Work” (Mani Haqiqi), “Offside” (Jafar Panahi), “One Night” (Niki Karimi), “Sara” (Dariush Mehrjuii), “The Day I Became a Woman” (Marzieh Meshkini), “The Gaze” (Sepideh Farsi), and “The Hidden Half” (Tahmineh Milani) are the Iranian feature-length films that will be shown at the festival.
“The House Is Black” (Forugh Farrokhzad), “The Immigrant” (Vahid Vahed), “The Sealed Soil” (Marva Nabili), and “Under the Skin of Baran” (Shalizeh Arefpur) are to be screened in the documentary films section of the festival, while “A Little Bit Higher” (Mehdi Jafari) and “Aan” (Pupak Mozaffari) are on the bill in the short films category.
While community elements of BIFF kicked off on July 21, the festival will officially open on August 2 and close on August 13 with Ken Loach's powerful and political “The Wind That Shakes the Barley”, which won this year’s Cannes Palme d'Or.
